Joyce Ortega

For the past 30 years Joyce has consulted with non-profits, businesses and entrepreneurs focusing on projects which she feels passionate about including environmental issues, change strategies and future viewing, gender equity and work life balance and bettering peoples lives. With an M.A. in Organization Development and Transformation, her heart is into creating positive change in the world.

As an avid reader and traveler worldwide, she has read about and seen first hand the beauty and diversity of cultures and the places on the planet where upheaval, inequities, war or environmental hazards have caused suffering and a need for change – including the United States.

Her passion to give back and alleviate some of this suffering led her to a commitment to tap into the power of women’s books groups to empower women worldwide. As Aung San Suu Kyi (Nobel Peace Prize recipient) stated, “The education and empowerment of women throughout the world cannot fail to result in a more caring, tolerant, just and peaceful life for all.” Simply put, when women thrive, we all do– including men.

A mother, a grandmother, a love to dance, hike and laugh keeps her balanced between the tough realities of life on a global level and the light side of living fully and compassionately with her partner, Phyllis, community of family, friends, two sons, Jason and Justus, daughter-in-law Jen and grandchildren, Jasmine and Jude.
